Xtracks Installation Guide (Version 3.20, includes tsection.dat b38). (most route documentation will state 'Xtracks 3.xx or higher', download and install this.
Hello, Hope someone out there can lend a hand. I've been having on heck of a time trying to get XTracks and the GT Holly route to run on my system. I gave up the other day and decided to reinstall Train Simulator, figuring that something I added in won't work. Let me run down my most recent problems, so maybe someone out there can let me know where I went wrong. 1) Completed a clean install of MSTS and backed up Global and Trains folders. Updated the install to version 1.2 2) Installed version 3.7 of X-Tracks 3) Installed the GT Holly Route. At this point the GT Holly route ran OK - I never tested the default routes.

Testi na postuplenie na nazarbaevskuyu shkolu youtube. 4) Proceeded to install Cajon Pass, Raton Pass, Sandpatch, NEC v4, Marias v3.1, Glorieta Pass, and Whitefish 2. The only routes that would run at this point were GT Holly and Whitefish. All of the other routes would crash TrainSim while loading the activity or explore route. 5) At this point, I had overwritten my global folder backup, so I did a reinstall of Train Sim. 6)Reinstalled Train Sim and updated to version 1.2 7)Installed X-Tracks 3.7 8)Tried activities in all six of the default routes.
Nothing would run. Train Simulator would crash after filling up six of the 'loading lights' across the bottom of the screen. 9)For grins, I added the GT Holly route to see if it would run. Started up just fine. So thats where I'm at right now. Can only run GT Holly (not that that is a major problem but getting my other routes to run would be nice). Have no idea why these routes won't load up for me, so if anyone has any clue what I can try, I would really, really appreciate it.
Also, what is the trick to get MSTS to rebuild the terrain buffers? Thanks in advance for any help. Bottom line, if I install XTracks on my system, I cannot run non XTracks route. There are even some of the XTracks routes that I cannot run.
Glorieta Pass and Marias Pass 3.1 will not run. The only two routes I have been able to run on my PC with XTracks installed are GT Holly and Whitefish 2. From what I'm getting from the instructions, all of these routes should work. I have downloaded XTracks several times, thinking maybe i had a corrupted download. It does happen now and then. I lost count of how many times I have uninstalled and reinstalled Train Simulator, defragmented my hard drive, etc.
Trying to get XTracks to work with Train Simulator. Does anyone out there know of any other add on that may cause these odd problems? I keep a copy of the original TSECTION.DAT file at hand in the GLOBAL folder, usually zipped up. Not too recently I used XTracks a lot building my Finnish route, but then decided to change back to the original TSection.dat.
Nowdays, whenever I choose to run/make activities/lay tracks on a route, I always dig out the appropriate TSection.Dat file. And I have no problems at all. I used to had problems like described before - Full Bucket Line 2 / Marias Pass / NEC would crash if Standardized Tsection.dat was loaded in the GLOBAL folder.
I just swapped it to the default and there it was, a bug-free route. It is not a fault in the Standardized Tsection.dat -- it is a fault in MSTS.
Did you do an actual reinstall of Train-Sim? If so,you need to reinstall all your routes and run the bat files for each. If you need to reinstall MSTS,go to your Train Simulator folder, delete two icons.train.exe and launcher.exe.then install MSTS over itself and you wont lose anything (routes rolling stock etc.) I have done this a few times without having to reinstall anything. (This was a tip from OTTODAD posted some time back) I have all the routes you mentioned and have no problems with them. My version of xtracks is one that was in the library awhile ago for non-route builders. My tsection.dat file is dated May 29,2003 Good luck Joe. I haven't had any problems running other routes after installation of XTracks, and I can't help out on whether other add-ons cause problems, since I haven't had any of those problems either.
